"DOJIMA" was the First

The Osaka Dojima Commodity Exchange is originated from the Osaka Dojima Rice Exchange which is known as a the world oldest exchange that had established the basic rules for trading the rice futures. The speaker will introduce the basic rules for trading of that time and how they affected the actual trading business, including the episode that the then famous trading house “Yodoya” who had gained the huge profits through the rice futures all of which was confiscated eventually by the rulers because such business seemed threatening to the then ruling but declining “samurai” society.
